- liver function/ bile flow
- mitochondria health
- infections
- the nervous system
…..Are connected from everything from chronic bloating or constipation to acne, PCOS, and infertility.

But it makes sense because hormones are just responding to the environment of the body.

You environment is influenced by your gut, nutrient status, detoxification system, health of your cells, & stress. So these root causes make total sense when you think of things in this perspective.

The issue is many practitioners, even functional medicine practitioners, are NOT testing or digging into these root causes.

They are so quick to dismiss symptoms, prescribe a pill, or give you an insanely difficult/long term elimination diet with 15 different supplements.

Secondly, your have a UNIQUE root cause of what’s driving your symptoms.
For example you and your friend may both deal with acne but your friend may have issues with her bile flow, while you actually have elevated copper causing oxidative stress.

And this is why I do what I do.

I don’t say this to brag. I don’t say this to also discount that women who are seemingly healthy won’t always conceive within 1-2 cycles (it can take up to 4-6 cycles, & that’s totally okay).

I say this because I was told that the ONLY way for my cycles to be healthy & to get pregnant was to be on a medication.

I remember being SO ANGRY when I left that doctors appointment. She didn’t ask me about my diet/lifestyle. She didn’t ask me about my sleep. She didn’t even want to order labs to look into if I truly had insulin resistance.

All she did was hear my symptoms & immediately turned to medication.

I’m sure many of you have had similar experiences whether it be related to PCOS or your other symptoms like acne, heavy periods, headaches, constipation, unexplained infertility etc.

We aren’t told that there is any other way.

But there is (&&& there is ample amounts of research to prove it!!)

EVERY DAY you have the opportunity to improve your health.

EVERY TIME YOU EAT you have a chance to nourish & heal your body.

You CAN feel better in your body.
You CAN get regular, not miserable periods
You CAN live a life with horrible bloating
You CAN restore your fertility
You CAN manage your PCOS

But we have to look at the body not in a way of “how can we just suppress/mask the symptoms”

Symptoms are always a sign of something deeper and we need to ask instead “what is the body trying to tell me?”

I’m beyond thankful every to wake up and help women be there best selves.

I am most of all, thankful for a body who despite being tortured with low calorie diets & excessive exercise, has allowed me to heal it & given me the gift of fertility.

Been SUPER INTO feta this week so here is a random

Been SUPER INTO feta this week so here is a random + easy Greek Salad I put together for lunch!

Salad:
• leafy greens (I did arugula, kale, spinach. Great for you liver, gut, & skin!!)
• cherry tomatoes
• cucumber
• full fat feta
• grilled/leftover chicken
• I hate olives but those would probably be yummy if you were into them.

Dressing:
• Dijon Mustard
• Extra Virgin Olive
• Juice from a Lemon
• Balsamic Vinegar (or you could do red wine vinegar)
• Dried Oregano

I don’t measure anything and just mix it up in my bowl to taste before I add in the greens, tomatoes, etc.!

I’m not really a fancy recipe person- I just need a
✨Protein
✨ Fiber
✨ Healthy fat
And my hormones are happy 🫶

I don’t share too many recipes here- so what do you think should I share more random things I eat??? Lmk below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

This could be a sign that your hormones are not functioning optimally.

Our hormones influence MANY bodily processes from digestion to our nervous system. Oftentimes hormonal imbalance symptoms may seem very vague or the symptoms don't seem to connect (i.e do you ever think how your headaches could be connected to your cycles?)

It took me YEARS to finally understand that many of the symptoms I was experiencing were signs of an underlying hormonal imbalance.

In fact, it was through my own research that I was finally able to connect the dots and I had to ASK my doctor to actually test my hormones. This is how I finally got to my PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) diagnosis.

My doctor didn't even have the THOUGHT to test my hormones based on my symptoms of anxiety, constipation, and acne. She had initially just recommended me to see a GI specialist and a dermatologist! Neither of which would address my hormonal imbalances.

Because of my poor experience with my doctor, it has been my mission to help educate women on how their symptoms could be tied to their hormonal health!

First off- 60 seconds is NOT enough time to give a full opinion. But here are just my initial thoughts.

If you don’t know what a prometabolic diet is then either don’t worry about it and carry on with your day 😂 or Google it!

✨ The prometabolic dietary pattern in its entirety has not been studied in scientific literature like for example the Mediterranean diet.

However, there are absolutely certain aspects that HAVE BEEN studied and are beneficial!

✨Things I like:
• overall focus on Whole Foods & eating ENOUGH
• eating adequate protein
• cooking in stable fats like ghee, coconut oil, grass fed butter
• full fat dairy > low fat dairy
• reduction/elongation of fake “healthy” foods

✨Things I am NOT onboard with:
• complete demonization of polyunsaturated fats (AKA lumping in hydrogenated oils with nuts&seeds)
• demonization of certain vegetables such as cruciferous vegetables
• copious amounts of saturated fats & protein without adequate fiber or other forms of fat (this has been shown to have negative impacts of the gut microbiome)

I also think CERTAIN PEOPLE have taken it way too far- just like with other fad diets (intermittent fasting, keto, etc).

For example I have had conversations with some women who follow some principles of the prometabolic diet but can understand that there is a clear different between hydrogenated oils and nuts&seeds. While others will not even touch nuts&seeds due to PUFAs (which I think creating LOTS of food fear).

Like I said, when women take some principles of the diet into their diet they see great benefits because it’s often that they now focus on Whole Foods, adequate protein, etc but like I said, with anything, it can be taken TOO FAR and now you’re confused whether or not you can eat a walnut.

There are even more aspects of the diet I have not covered here and this is by no means a comprehensive analysis. However, what I mainly want to point out:

1️⃣ This is NOT the only dietary pattern that supports healthy hormones.
2️⃣ Do not demonize Whole Foods. More food restrictions are likely not going to solve your problems.
3️⃣ Don’t take it too far.

Has anyone been seeing these “GRWM” morning routines of like crack?
Is it realistic to wake up, do a 40 minute meditation, then hop on over to my Pilates class or at home sauna, then come back and make a green juice????

Also is that what your morning routine has to look like to be healthy????

Absolutely not. Sounds cool & all but an at home sauna isn’t required to have healthy hormones.

Here is my REALISTIC Healthy- Hormone Morning Routine:

1. When you wake up DONT GRAB YOUR PHONE
2. Instead of looking at your phone, get a notebook/journal and write down 3-5 things you’re grateful for.
3. Drink 8 oz of water (forgot to mention this step above)
4. Make yourself a breakfast that has a protein, fiber, and healthy fat.
5. Have your coffee + another 8-12oz of water
6. BONUS: eat breakfast outside/in the a sunny spot of your house to expose your eyes to broad spectrum light
7. After you’ve done this- then AND ONLY THEN should you pick up & look at your phone.
